Busy weekend

Two weeks ago we had a busy but fun weekend!  That morning we went to Giles' birthday, then we played with Mallory's sprinkler after naptime and went to Mr. Heath's birthday party/ barbecue that night!  On Sunday, we went with some church friends out to Gordo for a fun family afternoon complete with four wheelers, a waterslide and hayride (which was Addy's favorite part - she included it in her bedtime prayers that night!)

Taking a break from the sprinkler for a quick snack!
Heath & LeAnn had this fun blow up that the kids LOVED!  I love to look at each child's face - there are some funny expressions!

Addy & John-Logan were taking a rest... looks like they are holding hands!  Ha ha!

The adults that weren't on kid-duty had fun sitting around talking!  Notice it is mostly dads!  Ha!!  Just kidding...

Sunday afternoon - Maggie Leigh & Marichase were trying out the John Deere riding toy

Talon & Mason showing everybody how it's done

Courtney took Talon for a ride on Tucker's four wheeler - he really was excited about it, although he doesn't look like it in this picture!

Courtney & Addy

Ellasyn took a break from swimming to ride around

Addy found someone's scooter and didn't want to let go!

Stephanie & Ty were going on a ride

Marichase was trying out this precious pedal car!

Tucker - so grown up!

The hayride was fun!  We saw a bunny & a deer!

Father's Day

Mom & Dad hosted us and the LeCroys for Father's Day... we have started spending Easter/Mother's Day/Father's Day and the 4th of July all together - it makes it so much easier because we all just get to hang out one time and don't have to "split" time between two houses.  It works because Kayla & Kyle aren't having to go visit other family, yet!

She was ready to open Daddy Jim's gift before he finished reading the card!
We missed KK & Kyle... Kyle is busy working in London now that he is finished with school and tests and Kayla is working at a camp in Texas for part of the summer!  We are ready for them to come home!

Random pictures

We took swimming lessons with Coach Anne Mims in May - Addy found this hat one morning while we were getting ready!  Swimming lessons were every day at 9:00 for a week... the first two days were tough (on both of us!) but by Wednesday she was holding her breath under water and by Friday she could jump in and get to the ladder at the side of the pool so it was all worth it!  We have had several fun pool days since swimming lessons ended and Addy keeps asking if we are going back to see Coach Anne!  I guess we will next year!
Working on her tan! HA ha!
Ready to go see Coach Anne... she was reading Berenstain Bears to her babies (lined up on the window sill)

I tried to get a picture in this pretty dress Mia got her in New Orleans but I never got a "perfect" one... she was going to wear this dress for Easter but it was "too itchy!"

Hey!

I'm cute!
We made these watermelon popsicles I saw on pinterest over the weekend... I just put a lollipop stick in a slice of watermelon and froze it!  Addy thought it was yummy - the icy watermelon was weird to me though!

First harvest from our garden :)  A lot of our plants didn't make it because I guess we waited too late to plant a garden and it was too hot... but we have a couple of squash plants and some tomatoes that have been producing.  We are hopeful that our watermelon vines will make some melons soon!

Beach, 2012

We went to the beach three weeks ago - just the three of us!  We were there for a whole week and we had the best time... we decided that vacations get more fun with Addy each year because she can do a little more than the year before.  Eating out was definitely easier this year than last!  And she still loves the sand!
Ready to go to Bayou Bill's Sunday night...

She was skeptical of the ocean at first but she liked "jumping" the waves

Monday we stayed on the beach as long as we could - Courtney picked up take out that night and we enjoyed walking on the beach after dinner and watching the sunset!

Addy showed off some silly faces... and planted a big fat kiss on Daddy's cheek!

By Tuesday, we all needed a little break from the ocean and the sun so we headed down the street to Gulf World.  We all liked the sea lion show the best but they had a dolphin show, reptile show and lots of animals to look at - tropical birds, giant turtles, sharks and penguins!

The dolphins were fun to watch!!
Tuesday afternoon, we drove over to Destin to do some shopping and eat dinner at Courtney's favorite - Captain Dave's.  We stopped at Kilwin's on the way home for some delicious ice cream which I don't have a picture of - it was gone in a hurry!

Wednesday morning we drove over to Wild Heron for Courtney to get some exercise while Addy & I (and Julie!) played at the playground.  Then we all took a dip in the pool and had a picnic lunch at Lake Powell before we headed back home for a nap and some fun on the beach that afternoon.

Swinging with Julie

"Riding" her toy boat in the pool!

Later in the week the tide made a "cliff" that we had fun sliding down and climbing back up

Waiting on the water to come up and rinse her hands
Wednesday night we ate supper on the deck - steamed shrimp, yellow rice, salad and dessert!
One, two, three... jump!

Cheese!

We discovered the sandbar on Wednesday and had so much fun playing in the shallow water on Wednesday and Thursday.  Addy napped on the beach under the umbrella on Thursday while Courtney dug a huge trench to the ocean :)  None of us wanted to go inside because it was our last day!  But we wanted to eat somewhere fun our last night...
Thursday  night we ate at The Back Porch over at Pier Park... we planned on riding the carousel after dinner but a HUGE rain shower came while we were eating and all the rides closed!  Since it was right down the street from where we stay, we went back Friday morning before we came home so Addy could ride!

We also rode the train and the hot air balloon ride (which almost ended badly for me and Courtney!)
We had an amazing time and are so thankful my aunt Lynne & Bob allowed us to "borrow" their house for the week!

Addy had so much fun building sandcastles and knocking them down.

Big Bird flying high...

Addy was so excited that they got to fly a kite!

Gadsden Trip

We recently joined my parents for a day trip to Gadsden to see my mom's parents.  I have so many fun memories of spending a week in the summer with Grandmother & Granddaddy with my cousin Erin who is my same age.  We would swim in the Coosa river, "practice" our golf swing with Granddaddy, go to Noccalula Falls with Grandmother (the highlight of the week in my mind), go on our own little adventures through the horse pasture down to the creek, ride horses & drive the golf cart... SO much fun!  We also ate more than our fair share of Nutty Buddy bars and Star Crunch (does anybody else remember those?!).

Birthday parties

We went to two birthday parties at the Barnyard recently... that seems to be the hot spot for birthday parties at this age!  We love going to visit Mrs. Kami!  I didn't realize until I looked at the pictures that I dressed Addy in the same outfit for both parties - a month apart!  We had fun celebrating with Riley (3) & Giles (4)!  Their dads (Josh & Bobby) have been friends with Courtney for a LOONG time!

Feeding the animals never gets old!  Addy got to see her friends Marian & Riley!

Sweet girls waiting their turn on the horse... Addy rode by herself... and Giles wore the birthday boy cowboy hat!

Marian was loving on this rabbit

Addy likes to pet these rabbits but doesn't want to hold them unless they're in the yellow basket... I found out why last time - they scratch!
