Snow!

We had our first snow of 2013 last Thursday. I don't think Addy remembers snow from the last time we had it. Honestly, it was more fun watching the snow than playing in it... It was so relaxing to watch it fall and such a nice break from the rain! God even sent the beautiful sunshine back out when it was over with. We were also very happy it didn't cause airport delays since Courtney came home from a work trip that night!

Marian came over to play that morning... She and Addy would go to the window to watch for 10 seconds and then they were back to playing!

They finally requested we go out to play in it!

They loved it!!!

Our yard was covered in enough white to make a snow angel (me!) and throw a few snowballs at each other! Some of our neighbors made snowmen!

It was fun while it lasted!

Addy-isms

A few things Addy says that I want to remember because they make us laugh:

(This picture makes me laugh! She was looking for her favorite outfit!)

"My nails are pink hot" (hot pink)

"I've got a wig" (wedgie!)

And one we won't be forgetting for awhile... The name Addy has picked out for baby sister is Strawberry Shortcake. She tells everybody her baby sister's name is Strawberry. And we've all started calling her that.

We took Addy to see Monsters, Inc. in 3D yesterday afternoon because it was rainy and we were looking for a fun activity! It was her first time at the movies and she loved it! I was surprised she kept the glasses on the whole time. We ate lots of snacks but we made it through the whole movie!

Here are a few other pictures on my phone I don't think I have posted on the blog...

On the last day of Christmas...

After Christmas we had Cooper, Tucker & Talon and Jennifer & Courtney at our house for a little Christmas party.  The kids got some fun gifts and so did the moms!  It was also a belated birthday for Jenn!  The kids had fun playing together and we had fun visiting.

Christmas at Mia & Pop's

On the day after Christmas, we celebrated with Mia, Pop &  Kyle at their house.  After naptime we went over and Mia read us (the preschool book of) the Christmas story and we exchanged gifts.  Then we had chicken spaghetti for supper and apple pie for dessert.  We ended the night watching the Muppets Christmas Carol... a family favorite :)

Addy picked up the phrase "I've always wanted one of these!" and we heard it so enthusiastically several times this Christmas!

Addy made an ornament at All Fired Up for her grandparents... Mia was finding the perfect  spot on the tree :)

Mia & Addy got pink outfits (which Addy immediately put on), Kyle got a sweater and Courtney got several things to read.  Kyle & Deidre got Addy a Mary Poppins doll from London and Pop got a  houndstooth golf towel.

Addy had a surprise waiting in the garage... a tricycle to ride at Mia & Pop's and a scooter!

Christmas Day

I know the Christmas posts just keep coming - just two more after Christmas day :)

On Christmas morning, I set my alarm for 6:30.  I was so afraid Addy would wake up before us and see what Santa brought before she came to our room since she has to walk past the living room to get to our room.  Of course after the alarm went off I couldn't go back to sleep and kept thinking every noise was Addy waking up so we crawled in her bed and then we were all awake!  Santa did come and he brought the piggy bank she had been wanting and a few surprises...  she was very excited about her Barbie Jeep and I'm glad we took it for a spin right away because she hasn't gotten to enjoy it very much with the cold, rainy weather we've had!  At 10:00, our parents and Kyle & Kayla came over for breakfast and we all spent the day together eating, watching movies and napping!  My idea of a perfect Christmas day!

She was upset at us for making her wait to come in the living room while we got the camera ready - I remember always thinking it took forever when I was little before we could finally see what Santa brought (lesson learned: have the camera ready the night before :)

The prized piggy bank!

Looking at her stocking.

Opening one or two from mommy and daddy

She got really good at making donuts in the culdesac!

Mia & Addy

Look at all the yummy food!

Getting ready to dig in :)

This was our set up for the day... we watched Brave, The Dark Knight Rises  (during naptime!) and finished off with the Sound of Music... sorry guys!

After taco soup for dinner, everyone was playing on their smart phones... I thought it was too funny not to take a picture!

Notice Kyle is playing with the legos... not sure where Addy is!

We so enjoyed having our whole family at our house all day.  What a blessing they are to us!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we met my family at Grannie's for a morning visit.

Addy loves going to see Grannie!  Sometimes we paint nails but most of the time we just talk and catch up.  I enjoy having Grannie close by - we see her much more often than we did when she lived in Gadsden.

Courtney was the photographer - we didn't get him in a group pic!
After we left Grannie's we arrived at Mom & Dad's in time for our traditional meal - lasagna, salad, garlic bread & Grandmother's chocolate pie for dessert.  Delicious!  JJ "helped" Addy take a nap while the guys dozed and talked and Kayla and I had a fun afternoon in the kitchen making coffee cake, decorating cookies and making pigs in a blanket.  Then we read the Christmas story from Luke & Matthew and opened gifts with our family that night.
Mom & Dad's live tree was so pretty!
I love the excitement on her face!

Too many pictures!
