Memorial Day Fun!

Courtney's brother Kyle was home at the end of May, the week after Audrey was born!  He and his girlfriend Deirdre actually flew in to the beach and Courtney's parents picked them up there and they all spent a few days enjoying the beautiful weather.  When they got home, they came straight to our house!  We were so excited to meet Deirdre and see Kyle and they were excited to meet Audrey and see everyone too, I think.

The next day was Memorial Day and they all came back (and brought barbecue!) to see us again because Kyle & Deirdre had to leave the next day.

Deirdre became Addy's new best friend - the Mary Poppins-sounding accent didn't hurt!  They painted nails and played monkey in the middle with Kyle outside while Courtney cooked burgers on Sunday.

Kayla joined us on Monday for Memorial Day dinner - she was getting in some Audrey time.

We had fun desserts (including Edgar's cupcakes!)

Kyle gave Addy a swaddle blanket for Julie (disclaimer: that is baby DOLL Julie in the picture.  1) Addy doesn't carry Audrey around the house and 2) Audrey's head doesn't have gashes in the back of it!)

We enjoyed spending time with everyone! 

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

The day before Audrey was born we had a fun girls' day! We started off with pedicures "at the salon" as Addy says. It was her first and one I won't soon forget! Of course we both picked pink polish! Addy got sparkles on hers. She was so good and loved it so much! We have played Miss Kayla (the nail tech) many times since!









We went by Addy's preschool to take a happy for her teachers, Mrs. Melanee and Mrs. Kathy.



Then we met Courtney at Edgar's Bakery for lunch! 



Of course, we had to get dessert!






We were worn out after all that activity!


When Daddy got home we gave Addy a surprise... a big sister shirt to wear to the hospital!



I had so many emotions that day... of course I was excited about meeting Audrey the next day but also nervous and anxious about the process of her arrival.  Most of all I wanted to cherish the "last day" with just Addy - it was very special.

After we got home from the hospital, Addy had one more week of preschool until she was out for the summer. This was her "last day" picture!

We have worked in lots of one on one time with big sis (and little sis!) Courtney stayed with Audrey one afternoon while Addy ran some fun errands with me to Baby Bundles, Wagner's and TCBY!

Strawberry Shortcake slept so much those first couple of weeks. I forgot how much newborn babies sleep!

I have a million pictures of this. Addy adores her baby sister. Audrey follows Addy's voice and likes to watch big sister. (We aren't sure yet if she's keeping a close watch in the interest of self-protection or amazement!)

Those first few weeks it was rare to see her eyes open this much!

We have been staying at home but have been thankful for meals brought by friends and visits from a few of Addy's friends!

We got a double stroller... Freedom! We have strolled to the neighborhood playground and just enjoyed walking some too! I love the stroller!!
