Picture taking...

I never really thought about all the effort that goes into getting a nice picture of your child... or not even a nice one, just one where they are looking at the camera... or not crying or fussing!  Sometimes when Addy has on a cute outfit and I want to take her picture, she is just not in the mood!  And she is not shy about letting me know it!  I thought I would post just a couple of pictures I took in a recent failed photo session, just because I know I will look back one day and enjoy the memory!  And because it will make me appreciate the pictures that turn out nicer than these!

Can't you just feel her frustration?!?

Tough life!

"Momma, please put the camera down!  I'm having a meltdown!"

I give up!

Randomness

Here are a few pictures from March...

Addy LOVES to hide on the other side of her bed and then jump out and "get" us...

And we call it her reading nook because it is the perfect size for her to go sit and look at books!  Here you can see she is into a new author... ha ha!

She is obsessed with birds and planes.  Here, she was saying "plane, go?" (where did the plane go?)  Anytime we are outside and she hears anything that sounds kind of like an airplane, she wants to see the plane in the sky!

Addy and me... we took a few pictures one Sunday recently and all the ones of Courtney and Addy were not good... as in, neither one of them was looking at the camera and Addy was trying to wiggle down out of Courtney's arms!

Great Grandparents

I have been so lazy about blogging this month and last month!  I wanted to post a few pictures of our recent visits to see my grandparents and Courtney's grandparents before I forget about it.

One Friday, we rode with JJ & Daddy Jim to Gadsden... we stopped at Grannie's first...

Addy found the book of herself that we had given Grannie for Christmas and all she wanted to do was look at it!

"Addy, Addy, Addy!"

After we visited with Grannie, we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch... Addy loves chick-fil-a!  Then we drove over to Grandmother & Granddaddy's house...
I love this picture... Mom was playing the piano with Addy's "help"

Addy was teaching Grandmother & Granddaddy about Peekaboo Barn on my phone.  They thought it was a fun game too!

During Spring Break, we rode with Mia to visit Courtney's grandparents in Brent & Centreville.  First, we went to Grandmother's house.  Aunt Margaret & Uncle Johnny came by while we were there too!  Since our visit, Courtney's cousin Michelle had a new baby girl, Sophie!  I am excited that she and Addy will get to play with each other when they get a little older!
Addy was showing Granddaddy her book.

After our visit, we met Nanny & Babby at the Sawmill restuarant for lunch and then went back over to Nanny & Babby's house to play for a little while.  I love their house... it just looks so "southern" to me!

Babby carried Addy down to see...
...some Moo Moos!
Thanks to everyone for letting us come and visit!  We are so blessed to have such a loving family!

Campin' Out

We have had a semi-permanent addition to our living room for about a month now... a tent!  Not the cute ones I have seen at Target... this is the old-fashioned kind (a blanket thrown over two chairs!)  Addy loves going in the tent and anytime she doesn't want to do something (drink her milk, put on her pajamas, brush her teeth), if we say "do you want to go in the tent and ______?" (fill in the blank with whatever she isn't wanting to do) the answer is magically YES!  I tried to take a few pictures of her playing in the tent!  She is so much fun!

Putting Julie to sleep
A better view of the tent
Had to leave the tent so she could take a phone call... it really does look like she is talking on the phone!  She is a little copycat!

Addy - 17 Months!

Addy weighs about 24 lbs and wears size 18 month clothes and a 5 shoe!

Her favorite toys right now are Bitty Baby (Julie), her vacuum, rocking horses, anything outside, bubbles, and the Peekaboo Barn game on my phone.  She is also into the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse that comes on the Disney Channel.  The hot dog dance is her favorite!

New tricks this month: Just learned to drink out of a straw! Likes to bounce on the bed but can’t really “jump” with her feet off the floor yet. Is into climbing on the furniture.

Addy repeats EVERYTHING! From “oh gosh” to “poot” to “cute,” she is always listening and seems to hang on the word that you put the most emphasis on in a sentence. She has started telling me my outfit is “cute” (sounds like coot) when I’m getting dressed… I guess she hears this a lot! So far, Daddy’s outfits haven’t been deemed very coot!

She has learned several new signs at Kindermusik – bear, ball, duck, baby, play, see, eat, clean up, thank you.  She usually says the word and does the sign.  It is so neat to see her learning something new!

She is a HUGE helper and loves when you praise her for helping (or praise her for anything, for that matter!).  She "dusts" all the time (gets a washcloth and wipes off the coffee table, floor, etc.).  She likes to "help" Daddy fix ice in the glasses before dinner.  She also likes to clean up (sometimes!), hand you things, brush your hair, and brush her teeth (and ours!).

I had almost no good pictures from this month because like I said in the last post, whenever we are doing something picture-worthy, I feel like it is hands-on!  We went to the playground a lot this month because the weather was so nice but I never did take a picture because I was always chasing Addy!

Love her little tennis shoes!  She was showing us her tongue, I think?
She got a vacuum for Valentine's Day... that's true love!
She has started wanting you to take her picture so she can see it on the screen on the camera.  She was making silly faces yesterday and then running over to look at her picture on the camera!
Where has our baby gone?

Worn out after "washing" the floor.

Lately...

I have taken almost NO pictures of Addy!  We have been enjoying all the beautiful weather we've had which means playing with bubbles, chasing Addy around the yard, going to parks so we can swing and slide, driving her pink car around the block and various other hands-on activities.  I have good intentions of taking her picture smiling on the swings or coming down the slide but I never pick up my camera because I am chasing her the whole time.  This is such a fun stage we are in right now!

This week, our bathroom is being remodeled!  Sounds like fun but it was more out of necessity than a desire to redo anything.  A few weeks ago, our big mirror that was attached to the wall above the sink decided to fall off the wall and break into a thousand pieces at 5:00 a.m.  Needless to say, that is not something you want to wake up to!  Courtney thought someone was breaking into our bathroom window!  Turns out, a shattered mirror can do some serious damage to sheetrock, countertops, floors and wooden doors.  I am thankful that it is getting fixed this week but we had to move out everything from our bathroom cabinets and linen closet and we also cleaned out most of the clothes, shoes, etc from our closet because we were afraid they would all be so dusty if we didn't.  We will be glad to get back to using two bathrooms instead of one!

There isn't much excitement around our house... it's tax season and it is starting to heat up a little!  The countdown to April 15 hasn't started yet but I'm sure it won't be long.

Thanks for stopping by to check in on us!
