5 Months Old!

Last Sunday was Addy's five month birthday!  She is changing and growing so much, it is hard to keep up! 

• Schedule:  awake at 7:00, breakfast (bottle & whatever new food she is trying), nap for 1 - 2 hours in the morning, lunch at 11:00 (bottle & rice cereal or oatmeal), nap for 1 - 2 hours in the afternoon, snack at 3:00 (bottle), cat nap around 5:00 if she's sleepy, dinner at 7:00 (bottle & rice cereal & one jar baby food), bathtime, bedtime at 8:00! 
• Before she takes a nap or goes to bed at night, we read her a book, sing a song together and rock for a minute and then lay her in her crib while she's sleepy but still awake.  Usually, she will fall asleep on her own, snuggled up to her bunny or lamb.  She is becoming attached to these soft "loveys" and likes to have one of them whenever it's time to sleep!
• New Foods: applesauce, green beans, bananas, oatmeal
• She likes to play in her Baby Einstein jumper.  She can bounce, look at herself in the mirror, spin the frog around (her favorite!), play with the flowers, and play the piano (usually on accident - I don't think she has figured this one out yet). 
• She is about ready to sit up.  She can sit for 5 - 10 seconds at a time using her hands to prop herself up before she starts leaning to the side and eventually plops onto the bed.  She likes this new view of the world though so I think she will be excited when she can finally sit up instead of laying down all the time. 
• Courtney put her high chair together today and she had her first meal from the high chair tonight.  It was a success!
• She is figuring out new sounds that she can make - she has developed a fake cough but we think she is either trying to get us to pay attention to her or she has just figured out this new sound and likes to test it out.  She also has figured out that she can keep her lips closed and blow bubbles or make a buzzing sound with her lips and she tries that out every once in a while.  She made a "da" sound while she was babbling yesterday... the books say she will start to make "ba" "ma" and "da" sounds (but not know that she is saying "ma ma" or "da da" yet!). 
• She wears size 2 diapers and is starting to outgrow size 3 - 6 months clothing.
