Last Tuesday, Kayla and Addy and I went to visit JJ at Echols Middle School where she is the guidance counselor (but only for another week... she is retiring!)  She wanted to show Addy off to her friends at work before school got out for the summer.  Here is a picture of Addy & JJ outside the school.
On our way home from the visit, Addy fell asleep in the car so I quietly put her into her crib when we got to the house.  When I went in to check on her after an hour long nap, this is what I found...

She was sitting up in her crib... first time she had gone from lying down to sitting up on her own!

So here's what happened the next day...

Time to lower the crib again!

Whenever we are getting ready to go somewhere, I get Addy's diaper bag and car seat ready to go and one of her favorite things to do is to play with the car seat.  It rocks back and forth and she will pull up on it and get any stuffed animals or pacifiers out of it that she can reach...

Here she is looking to see what's inside...

Already??

So Courtney lowered Addy's crib a couple of weeks ago and this Tuesday I discovered that she could get to a sitting position on her own when I went in to get her up from her nap and she was sitting in her bed playing.  Courtney had to lower her mattress alllll the way down to the bottom yesterday (it is so low I feel like she's practically sleeping on the floor!)  Mia discovered that she could pull herself up using the side of her crib and she stood up and was banging her hands on the side of the bed!

Weekend Pictures

Crawling around... she had to come to the kitchen to investigate what Mommy was doing!

Looks like something stinks!

Playing hide and seek in her crib during "naptime" on Saturday

First time to wear "big girl" pajamas... not footed pajamas!

Golf Tournament and Cookout

On Sunday afternoon, Courtney played in our church's golf tournament.  His team finished -1...I don't really know what that means but I know they didn't come in last place!  It was VERY hot on Sunday - I think all the golfers probably wanted to jump in the pool after they finished playing.  Addy and I met up with Courtney when he finished playing and went to the cookout.  We had yummy barbecue and Addy had fun watching Brynn and attempting to play with Mallory.

Mallory and Addy... Mallory looks like she is a little skeptical of this whole thing.

And now you know why... looks like Addy is pinching her arm!

Remember what they looked like just five months ago?  http://lecroyslately.blogspot.com/2009/12/first-play-date.html

Recent Pictures...

Sitting in her high chair...
Sticking that tongue out!
This morning, she crawled over to the toy bucket and pulled it over so she could get to more toys!

Courtney had to lower her mattress in her crib... she pulls the bumper down and lays on top of it and frequently puts her hands on the side.  She hasn't pulled up in her bed yet but we didn't want to take any chances since she is pulling up on furniture now!
Of course, lowering the mattress turned into a longer process than we expected!

Wedding!

Last weekend, Courtney and I went to Monroeville for Jennifer & Curtis’ wedding. Notice, I said Courtney and I (not Addy!)… She spent the night with Mia & Pop and spent the day on Saturday with JJ, Daddy Jim & Kayla. She did great and they survived! Courtney and I enjoyed getting to spend time with each other, although we did miss her!  We had so much fun with all the wedding festivities.

Jennifer was a beautiful bride!

Heath was the officiant so we were glad to get to spend some time with Heath & LeAnn this weekend too.

Adam, Charity, Leah and Carla also made the drive down for the wedding and we all had fun dancing and taking pictures in the photo booth at the reception!

We had fun dressing up!

Catching Up with Friends

Last night I had dinner at Pepito's and got to catch up with friends... Julie and Courtney (Tidmore, not LeCroy) and I visited over chips, cheese dip and salsa forever and it was like old times!  Nikki came late and we had a fun girls dinner and it was so nice to have some girl time!  Julie is newly engaged so we had fun admiring her BEAUTIFUL ring and hearing about wedding preparation.  Love you Jules!

New Discovery...

One day last week, Addy and I were having a fashion show.  This is where she cooperates and I make her try on several outfits from her closet just for fun!  She usually seems to enjoy it until about outfit number 5 and then she has had it.  Between wardrobe changes, she made a new discovery... her belly!  She studied it and I just thought it was too cute so I had to snap a picture of her checking herself out.

Play Date!

This afternoon, Addy and I got to visit Rachel & Riley for a play date.  We have been wanting to get these girls together but tax season was in the way!  They are four months apart in age so I like hearing what Riley is into because I know we'll be there soon!  Rachel & I enjoyed visiting and seeing each others' babies!  It is hard to believe Riley will be turning 1 next month!

Addy & Riley - too much to ask for both of them to look at the camera!

Riley was such a big girl walking all over the place!  Here she is pushing her doll in the stroller.
We may have to get Addy a pink car like Riley's - she was "driving" around the yard and loving it!

Fun Weekend!

On Saturday, Courtney and I had separate (but fun!) days planned.  He and Curtis and Curtis' brother headed out to the Tuscaloosa airport to see the Blue Angels perform.  They had a great time and Courtney came home with a sunburn to prove it!

I rode with Jennifer to her bridesmaids' luncheon in Montgomery where we had a great lunch at Cafe M at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and racked up a goody basket of Jennifer's "favorite things" including body butter, nail polish, earrings, sunglasses, and (my fav!) Peterbrooke chocolate covered popcorn.  Here is a picture of me with the beautiful bride-to-be!
Sweet Kayla kept Addy company while Courtney and I were off having fun.  According to Addy, she had fun with aunt Kayla Saturday afternoon!

Mothers' Day

This was my first Mother's Day and as Courtney's mom pointed out, now I know why there is a special day to celebrate moms!  There is definitely a lot of hard work that goes into being a mom but I wouldn't trade my sweet Addy for anything!  I am so thankful for her every single day.  And I have a new appreciation for my mom and for all moms out there!

On Sunday, we went to church and then headed to Centreville to visit Courtney's grandparents.  We had lunch at Nanny & Babby's house - ham, fried chicken, sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, green beans, macaroni & cheese, grape salad, pound cake, and brownie trifle.  Whew!  Thank goodness we skipped breakfast on Sunday so we'd have enough room for all the food at lunch!  We took Addy to see one of Babby's bottle calves after lunch but she was not too impressed.  The calf just stared at Addy but Addy was more interested in the dogs that were running around.  The cow didn't move enough to capture her attention!  We had a great visit with Courtney's parents, Melanie & Myron and Nanny & Babby.

We headed to Brent that afternoon to visit Courtney's Grandmother & Granddaddy.  Aunt Margaret, and cousins Barbara & Michelle came over so they could see Addy.  None of them had seen her since Christmas and they were all surprised at how much she had grown since then.  She was in a good mood all day and seemed to enjoy being the center of attention everywhere we went!  I am sad that I don't have pictures to post from our visit... I left my camera at home that morning!

We headed back to Tuscaloosa later on and went to my parents' for dinner so we could see my mom on Mothers' Day.  (We swung by the house to get Addy's dinner and grabbed the camera so here are a few pictures from Mom & Dad's.)  We had barbecue for dinner and it was delicious!  We were all tired at the end of the day but it was nice to get to see our families on Mothers' Day.

Splish Splash!

Addy has really started splashing in the tub! She hits the water with her hand and kicks her feet, blinking and looking a little confused when water gets in her eyes! She is learning that she can make things happen!

We had some pictures made last week... if you are interested in viewing them online, email me and I will send you the password!

Bye bye!

Tonight Addy definitely waved bye-bye! We thought we would get her waving on video and she surprised us by saying bye bye out loud and waving! Can they mean to do that at this age or was it all just a coincidence? I feel like she knew what she was doing because she did it on cue but I am not sure if that is possible! Of course, all parents want to think their child is special, I guess :) I made a movie and I uploaded it to our blog but then deleted it because it's too long... 2 minutes is a long time to listen to mostly mine and Courtney's voice trying to get Addy to perform!

Busy Weekend!

Friday night we ran to Jalapeno's for supper... it was quite an experience!  Addy was not happy sitting in her carseat (this is fairly new for her) and one of us held her the whole time but she is hard to hold because she wants to grab the chips and salsa or rake her hand through the refried beans or hit her head on the table as she is trying to wiggle her way out of your arms!  We ate in shifts and Courtney and Addy eventually walked outside while I finished eating and paid for our supper!  When we got home, we took a walk to work off some of those chips and salsa (and cheese dip!)

On Saturday, Courtney headed out to Shelton State for Relay for Life… the O2 ministries team had a cooking crew that stayed out there all day and cooked up some yummy barbecue! Addy & I rode with Mom & Dad and headed to Gadsden to celebrate Granddaddy’s 86th birthday. Lynne & Bob were in Gadsden for a visit so we got to see them too. We had a delicious lunch and German chocolate cake (a tradition for Granddaddy’s birthday)! It looks like everyone is glistening in the pictures because it was about 80 degrees in the house – everyone except Grandmother & Granddaddy was a little warm!

After lunch, we stopped by to see Grannie for a couple of hours. She hadn’t seen Addy since Christmas and wanted to show her off to some of her friends!

Sunday afternoon, everyone took a nap at our house because we were worn out from Saturday! Sunday night, we celebrated Pop’s 58th birthday with dinner at Cypress Inn which was delicious! Addy sat in the big girl highchair for the first time at a restaurant and ate puffs while we had dinner… she did really well and seemed to enjoy sitting at the table with everyone (much better experience than Jalapeno’s on Friday!) After dinner, we went to Mia & Pop’s for presents and cake. Addy liked Pop’s golf ball grabber thingy as you can see in the picture! And she gave Pop a (slobbery) kiss on the cheek before we left since it was his birthday!

New this week… Addy is getting better at moving around. She is all over the place when you set her in the floor to play and stays on her blanket for all of about 5 seconds. She army crawls and scoots to whatever she wants to play with (usually a non-toy like my shoes or one of our cell phones). I think she is understanding bye-bye because sometimes she kind of puts her hand up like she is going to wave bye-bye. And it definitely seems like she understands when you tell her to give someone a kiss because she leans toward their face with her mouth open! She is continuing to babble more and more and has mastered the “gah” sound along with da da, la la, and ba ba.  The game of dropping toys on the floor so we can pick them up still has not gotten old and she will drop a toy and then look down at it until you hand it back to her.  She loves to try to play with either of our cell phones and the TV remote!  She has stopped putting things in her mouth quite as much (thank goodness!)

We are having pictures made today and I can’t wait to see how they turn out (6 month pictures, about 4 weeks too late – so I guess that makes them 7 month pictures?) .
